Family Eco Ranger Safari Garden Route
Taking children on safari is difficult? With our Family Eco Safaris children become Junior Rangers from the age of 6 years already. The entire family has fun in Africa’s nature, getting close to its wildlife while learning about important conservation projects.
Explore the life of a game ranger, “peek behind the scenes” of a Big Five Game Reserve and help to safe Africa’s wildlife. Participate in wildlife and veld management and volunteer with the kids of the local community.
The activities and the timetable have been planned in a child-friendly manner and can be easily managed by children from the age of 6 upwards together with their parents.
The children are introduced to the topic gradually, but care is taken not to test their patience. They learn through play, and information about nature and animals is processed in the group, using story-telling and pictures. Our guides are well experienced and take good care of the children and their safety.
The family game ranger holiday is a unique experience for parents and children. Together they explore the African bush, go on exciting game trips in a malaria free area and make a contribution to the preservation of the diversity of species. Not least, there will be lots of fun for the family in the daily life in the camp, with activities like collecting wood, cooking and enjoying campfire tales.
The game reserve on the renowned Garden Route is the only fynbos reserve in the world in which the Big Five roam freely. Nature and animal conservation are the priority at this 11 000 hectare private game reserve, and as a hands-on game ranger you will contribute to the preservation of the unique floral and animal kingdoms of South Africa.
Tented Bush Camp and homemade food
Your base during the program will be in our eco-friendly tented camp set in a protected valley, blanketed in Fynbos, in the heart of the game reserve. The camp facilities include 5 comfortable twin share tents for guests set on raised platforms with covered deck areas, each with a flushing toilet, sink area and hot water shower and a private deck. The camp is remotely located in the reserve, therefore all power is supplied by solar energy or gas. The camp accommodates a maximum of 10 guests.
